winter in New England
Jan. 6th, 2007 01:23 pmWhen I was heading to bed at stupid-o-clock this morning and went to let the beasties in and turn off the outside light, there was a moth fluttering around the door.
A moth.
It smelled distinctly like spring outside yesterday.
My irises are coming up.
I'd find absolute joy in these things if it was April.
It's the first week of January, and so far I've had *no* snow that didn't melt the moment it hit the ground. I should have giant snowbanks at the end of my driveway and half-built spastic snowmen and shallow snowforts all over the yard courtesy of the Daughter. Instead I was outside in a t-shirt yesterday.
We are so totally f*cked as a planet.
