To offset the crazy guy in the supermarket this past weekend, the Universe sent me a rather handsome (if far too young for me) fireman who bought me lunch yesterday. Lest you get too excited about any romantic implications in this moment of karmic redress, it was pretty much a random-stranger-kindness thing; the semester is about to end, and when it does people on the meal plan just plain lose any money they haven't spent, so aside from students buying entire cases of soda, chips, etc., to try to use up their remaining balance, this guy decided to buy lunch for the person standing in line behind him, which was me.

Thank you, random young fireman guy. Thank you, universe -- although at this point you still owe me a winning lottery ticket's worth of good luck, at least in this one small matter, consider us even (-:
