I had a really lengthy dream last night where I was in either a shop or a restaurant -- both, I think, sort of merged together. I was having a very earnest discussion with someone about writing and life and all that stuff, when a waitress/shop-clerk came up to me and politely tapped me on the shoulder. "Have you gotten around to reading the handout you were given on muscle cramps?" he/she asked.

"Not yet," I said.

The waitress/clerk went away and I resumed my conversation. A while later he/she returned and tapped me on the shoulder again. "Have you read it yet?"

"Still no," I said. "I'll read it soon."

The waitress/clerk went away again and I returned to my conversation. A few minutes later the waitress/clerk was back, seeming mildly anxious. "Have you read it yet?"

"No," I said. "I really will, though. I have it right here!" I held up the sheet of paper to show I still had it. It had a diagram on it, and a big red arrow.

"Okay," the clerk said, and then added something to the effect that it was important and I should read it right away. Then he/she went away again.

I resumed my conversation. A few minutes later the waitress/clerk returned for a fourth time, agitated now. "Have you read it? You really need to read it!"

"No, I haven't," I said. I remember feeling very guilty at that point. "I'm sorry. I promise I will, really soon now. As soon as I'm done here," I answered.

And then I woke up with a massive leg cramp.
