Writing is still impossible at the moment, as I have little people clinging to me needing food every two hours around the clock and wanting to be held the rest of the time. However, I've been brainstorming on various worldbuilding and character elements from the work-in-progress (Arcx) and I filched an old and mostly unused notebook from the elder child to jot stuff down in in those rare moments when I have a hand free. As a result I've figured out some stuff that I was dodging around in the abandoned-for-scrap first draft, as well as lots of stuff that connects a ton of behind-the-scenes dots that will probably be entirely invisible in this draft except in how it helps the right words find their way onto the right page. Set design and stage management, I guess.
I am still extremely discouraged about writing (increasingly so as time passes), but I figure if I just keep trudging along and try to focus on where I'm putting each foot instead of on the distant horizon I'll eventually make it where I need to go. Of course, by that same analogy right now I'm just sort of standing still and fiddling with shit in my pockets while I stare at my shoes, but hey.

You are brave and mighty.
