Two rejections in one day is REALLY not fair, O Spirits of the Universe. Especially when you don't hit me with the second one until after the post office is already closed.

"Nice writing" but no interest from F&SF for Lima Bean. Turnaround 6 days.

I'm not sure where to send this one next. It's not my usual sort of tale, and might actually be somewhat subtle. (I know what you're thinking: Subtle? from me? How is that possible? Hey, if *everything* had ninjas in it, *nothing* would have ninjas in it.) It falls in that vague DMZ between slipstream and mainstream, and is an awkward 7k in length.

Anyhow, market suggestions definitely welcome.

As fond as I am of ASIM, I don't think this story would be a good fit for you folks. Also, I'd really like to sell something on the continent I live on -- although moving to Australia seems like a great way to solve that, it's a bit impractical. Plus, think of the size of the postage on the SASE if Australia decides they don't want me and have to send me back (-:

SASE? What's one of them? :-) All ASIM submissions are by email, and go through a blind slushing process. None of this going to the post office business for us!

We accept all SORTS of interesting pieces; so long as there's a discernible speculative element and it's well written, it's got a chance.

All the best with it, regardless. You're very dedicated and that impresses me no end.

Oh, and moving to Australia is ALWAYS a good option :-)

Cheers
Tehani

Hey, if we'd figured out how to transport ourselves places electronically, I'd already be out of the blighted land of George W. and somewhere down in your hemisphere.

It's the "discernible" that'd be problematic with this story. It's there, but you could make a solid argument that it's not.

Sheesh, all right already!

Still, not sure it's their kind of thing. Not sure it's not just too damned lowkey, for all that I'm fond of it.
