(no subject)

The furnace is theoretically fixed again. This guy said the problem was that the furnace was so gunked up it couldn't exhaust the smoke out the flue and that's why it backed up into the house. He did a much more thorough cleaning and it's been running smoothly since, but then after three failures in five days I'm not exactly feeling confident that it's going to stay that way. New Year's Eve guy had said it was dirty and needed cleaning too, but he only did the oil filter so it's conceivable that this is just that the furnace really was unbelievably dirty.

What happens if it smokes up again while I'm at work tomorrow? It's not like I can just turn off the damned heat while I'm not here, but I know I'm going to stress about it all day long. I'm still a huge bundle of raw nerves after tonight's excitement, and I expect sleep is going to be hard to come by tonight despite sheer exhaustion. )-:
