Jan. 4th, 2009 06:01 pmSo the babies have been super-cranky, late into the night last night and starting up again very early this morning. After about four hours sleep total during the night, they've been super-needy all day, and I finally, *finally* got to lie down for a nap about forty-five minutes ago. And no sooner was I sound sleep when every single smoke alarm in the house went off simultaneously. Yep, you guessed it, the furnace. It's still running, but now it's making smoke too.
The smoke alarms are hard-wired into the electricity of the house so there's no way to turn 'em off without flipping the circuit breaker, which would also take out the cellar lights which presumably the repair guy is gonna need to see down there. So that's right out. I've got the furnace shut off now and all the windows open with fans trying to exhaust the smoke out of the house and it's finally quiet in here, but I've still got adrenalin shakes like you wouldn't believe from waking up to that din and then actually finding smoke in the house.
Repair guy is on his way, different one this time, said maybe an hour or so. I'll keep ya posted. )-:
ETA: 6:43pm repair guy here.
