Playing With Stones: Home Edition
May. 15th, 2009 01:35 pmI've said goodbye to the last of my tax refund.
(Two new deductions, significant chump change.)
After paying off my car earlier in the week,
(Still waiting for euphoria and relief)
I have bought Stone. Two pallets, delivered.
(Or delivered soon, so they've said.)
Gray Fieldstone
Coming on palettes
(A small deposit requir'd)
To weigh down the edge of the driveway
Until, one warm sunny day,
I break them apart
To build walls.
(O'er necessary objections from my chiropractor.)
I feel strangely giddy. It's a huge project.
(Still, I've meant to do this for years.)
After, I may regret the effort, if not the result
(Two walls, all told, to either side of the driveway.)
I've also considered it narrows avenues for toddler escapes.
