wrong side of the pond for me
Jun. 11th, 2010 08:31 pmThere's a new contest encouraging authors to write stories/poems/etc. based on actual conversation overheard while eavesdropping. Alas, it is only open to UK authors, of which I am not one. (Anyone in the UK want to adopt me?)
So while eating lunch at my desk at work, I wrote one anyway. It's based on the best conversation I've ever overheard, and it's pretty rough since, as I said, I wrote it at work on my lunch break, but hey. I'm not proud, and I'm certainly not above sharing crap with you.
It's here: Two Tables.
I found it a fairly inspirational writing trigger, obviously. If you end up writing something yourself and not submitting it to the contest, please post me a link so I can come read (-:
