I find myself lately very much missing RASFC, as it used to be "back in the day".

If I create a rasfc-exiles community, will y'all hang out with me again?

I would give it a try. What form would it take?

Note: there's a RASFC community on LiveJournal, which hasn't excactly prospered.

I wasn't aware of it, though I remember talk of forming such a thing.

Do you (and anyone else interested) want to try popping over to verbosify.org and see if that suits? (Note the 'about' page - some people felt uncomfortable with it; I'm open to rephrasing but am pretty firmly wedded to the intent.)

Features are still in development which is why we haven't officially launched it but it is actually functional. If you think it'd serve I'd be happy to do a launch and get more users; if not, it'd be useful to know what it would need to make it usable.

(An extra note on the 'about' page - this is because I'm not actually trying to recreate what rasfc was, but rather to meld the best of what it was with the best of what it could have been but never was.)

that's not only understandable, but commendable.

I'll take a more thorough look when I get home from work.

Funny, I was just thinking about this for the past two weeks. I keep trying to write a blog post about it - where to go for good in-depth writing discussion - but can't get it to sound not-whiny.

We've tried setting up LJ communities once or twice but they never seem to stay active for long.

We can always try to revive [livejournal.com profile] 9and60ways again. The proble is that we need several people willing to keep the conversation flowing - we all feel a bit silly when we're the only people to start threads. I, too, miss the community we had and would like to see more of y'all.

I figure if I don't have to spend 80% of my time scrolling through the Endless Refinement Of Facts and I Hate Everything And You're Always Wrong But Give Me Free Advice Anyway conversations, I might just have a hope of keeping one foot in the remaining conversations. (-:
