trawling for votes
May. 15th, 2011 10:43 pmSo I entered the Where's the TARDIS? contest, and part of the judging is based on number of Facebook likes, so if any of my friends who use FB want to give me a like, go to the link above.
And yes, I made a TARDIS quilt. It's not quite the way I wanted it*, but I ran out of time. Here it is:

(The reason I didn't build an actual TARDIS in my backyard is that one of the contest rules is that you have to take a photo of your TARDIS in a public place, and moving an actual lumber one would be impossible without a crane. So I made a quilt instead, and took it to a local stone circle. It was pouring rain out all day and very windy, so it was hard to get a good photo of it. Oh well!)

* I didn't back it, because I know I'm going to take out a few seams and do bits over.

Date: 2011-05-16 01:40 pm (UTC)I can visualize a quilted Tardis tea cozy....Shoot, I don't have time to sew anything right now, but that's going to stay in my brain.
Hope you win the contest! If I used FB, I would definitely click "like".

Date: 2011-05-17 05:02 am (UTC)(My husband has been building us a back yard shed for a couple of years now, because he wants everything just so. This means that when he gets to the glass in the windows, he's going to have to CAST resin, because they don't make the exact kind of pebbled glass he wants anymore. Of course, he's also building it to last like 50 years. I make it a week after it's finally finished and unveiled before I fall to temptation and spraypaint Bad Wolf on the side.)
