Gone

Maisie Roo is off to a new home today up in the wilds of Maine, with a lovely couple and their cattle dog, Jasper. I did really well and didn't cry until they were putting her in their car. It's for the best -- these people will take wonderful care of her -- but it still is hard as hell and hurts. )-:

I am very sad. She was a sweet dog, if always just a little more than I could really handle.

I'm so sorry it had to come to this, but it sounds like you found her a great home, which is more than many pet owners would do. {{{HUGS}}}

I'm glad you were able to find a good home for her.

Seconded!

Bye Maisie Roo! I think Maine has almost enough ground for her to cover while chasing the ball. Again and again and again and again and again...

Maine is big enough that if you could throw the ball from one end of the state to the other, she might almost be tired by the time she got it back to you.

She'll be happier, and really in the long run I'll be happier too. Just weird to come home and not have her barking her head off waiting for me, and she's slept on my bed nearly every night of her life. Definitely an emptiness in the house already. )-:

They really are absolutely adorable, and a right pain because they'd much rather be active than be adored. It's just unfair, I tell you!

<Hugs>

I know that the knowledge that you've done the right thing doesn't help much, but I salute you.

Knowing you did the right thing doesn't make it hurt any less. *hugs* to you.

The right thing to do is not always the easy thing to do. Hopefully in the long run it will be easier and better for the both of you. :-)
