sigh... hassle away
Feb. 9th, 2009 12:10 amDespite best intentions and all that, I do not have a completed first draft of the attack story, Silence and Roses. I did work on it a bit but I didn't get very far. The babies have been *very* needy/fussy the last several days which has made it nearly impossible to accomplish much of anything. I suspect there's a bug making the rounds of the family; my own stomach has been decidedly more touchy than usual for the last week and so has the big kid's. Stands to reason that's what's bothering the sprogs too. )-:
I did go out this afternoon and take advantage of the warmer weather to shovel some chunks of the 3" thick ice sheet off my driveway. It's so slippery out there I've been really afraid of slipping and falling while carrying one of the sprogs. This was effort-intensive in the extreme; each square inch is gonna cost me at the chiropractor's later this week. While I didn't get the whole driveway cleared I did get a decent section done, and hopefully with above-freezing temps expected for most of the week the sun'll do a fair bit of the remaining work for me (or at least make the rest of the task easier.) We also did our usual grocery-store run and stopped in for a bite of food at the local diner. The little man consumed, with great enthusiasm, most of my pickle. It amazes me how much of a boy the boy is.
So, not so much with the writing, but it doesn't feel like a total waste of a day. Also, I think I'm finally starting to find the right voice for the story, so put that one in the win column. Damned story won't get out of my head, so it's gonna have to get written one of these days.
