Aug. 19th, 2008 01:49 pmI had this dream last night... (yes, I actually fell asleep long enough to dream)
In it, I was looking at a sudoku grid, about three-quarters filled in, floating in empty space. As I watched it seemed to be retreating, slowly at first then quickly gathering speed. I realized after a moment that it wasn't moving away from me, but was in fact shrinking. When it had collapsed down to a single point it exploded spectacularly, flinging millions of tiny fragments outward. As the fragments slowed, I realized they were numbers -- 1s and 4s and 9s and 2s and so on, all randomly distributed but now filling the entire universe, where, once they had reached a barely imperceptible outward movement, they began to shine.
I woke up with the realization that I had just witnessed/imagined the creation of the universe out of sudoku numbers.

and in the comments, does it worry anyone else that the sudoku puzzle wasn't completed before it was destroyed?
