It's A Binary Thing

The last few days have been Sending Out Story Days. I had a number of shorts that I'd subbed once or twice (or not at all) before realizing they were flawed or incomplete in some way, so they got shelved until I could get back to them. Well, I've gotten back to them!

One went out a little before the holidays, two more so far this week. Plus I finally got back to one of my favorite unfinished stories, Stray, which is the further adventures of Stan (a character from my story He's Got Skeletons, which should still be online for another month or so -here-)

The place was a mess and smelled faintly of piss. I rummaged through his kitchen, found a half-eaten package of hamburger meat, a jar of pickles, and a six-pack of beer in the fridge. There wasn't much else. The couch was stained with I-don't-want-to-know and partially buried under dirty laundry that spilled over onto the living room floor. Only his television seemed taken care of, a giant wide-screen set with built-in speakers that didn't have so much as a speck of dust or garbage on or near it. I resisted the temptation to turn it on. Besides, all the good shows were long over at this hour, and I'd already missed the end of the game.      I went into Billy's bedroom. My plan was to hide myself in his closet, and then leap out and scare the living hell out of him. I'd count the old score settled if I could make the man crap his own pants, and I figured the odds were pretty much all on my side.

Anyhow, I think that one's not too far from being ready to send out too. Maybe Friday.

Also, I've made some small progress on the next novel. As long as I'm moving forward, yknow?
